I'd hate to prematurely declare victory, but I too have a black thumb, and the fact that my plants are still alive is pretty encouraging. I'm going to use my basil tomorrow.
My wife works for this company that imports hydroponic soil from the Netherlands. I think that any success that my garden will have will be attributed to that stuff.
